Karo Hovhannisyan brings more than two decades of experience in risk management, specializing in model development, model validation, and the design of enterprise risk frameworks across both credit and market risk. He currently serves as Vice President, Senior Manager of Model Risk Management at the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, where he oversees the governance, performance, and regulatory compliance of quantitative models to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
Before joining FHLB New York, Karo held roles across multiple risk functions at the international investment bank Natixis, gaining broad exposure to capital markets, credit analytics, and advanced quantitative risk methodologies.
He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics and is the author of numerous academic publications.
