Anthony Muhammad
Director, Chief Controls Office - Global Technology, Cyber, and Resilience, Barclays
I am committed to building smarter, stronger, and more resilient financial systems to help the firm stay ahead of risks before they emerge. At Barclays I lead the technology, cyber, and resilience controls agenda in partnership with our CIOs across the Investment Bank, US Consumer Bank, UK Corporate Bank, Private Bank & Wealth Management, and Consumer Banking & Payments divisions.
Since joining Barclays in 2015, I have held leadership roles in Finance, Risk, and Technology, shaping strategies aligned with the firm’s core objectives and purpose. Previously, I directed Operational Risk strategy for capital planning, stress testing, scenario analysis, and governance. I also founded and chaired the Operational Risk Research Working Group, an analytics-driven forum focused on horizon scanning and proactive risk identification.
I regularly engage with industry leaders to advance risk and control innovation, speaking at forums such CEFPRO & ORX, and most recently delivered a keynote at “Operational Risk & Technology Europe 2025” on leveraging patterns and anomalies to anticipate control failures. To stay ahead of emerging trends, I completed MIT’s Designing & Building AI Products & Services program in 2025.
